Jamie Stiby Harris

“I work in oils on a large scale; most of the canvases are
either 5 and 6 foot tall and about 4 foot wide.
I paint the human form in a figurative style, usually on flat,
brightly-coloured backgrounds.  Each painting is a result of absorbing
and reflecting upon different subjects, that often start off as
personal thoughts and feelings.  The point of painting the filtrate of
this process is to allow private matters to become accessible to
others, if not in a meaningful way then in a way that is visual or
sensual, or comical.
I have a painting hanging in the Chiquito restaurant and bar by the
O2, and I’ve been working for Cleo Rocos in painting a label for a
brand new tequila that will be on the shelves within the month.”

Jamie will be exhibiting at The Gallery London 132 Hither Green Lane SE13 6QA commencing 23rd March 2012 with a Viewing with the Artist on 24th March including a licensed bar.
